Summary: The Rules' Universe revolves around Hikaru, his friends and love interests. Hydra, which appears only in doujinshi format, details the high school experiences of Ryuu, Hitomi, and Hikaru. There are several companion doujinshi for this series that feature the same characters, some of them occurring before the start of Hydra. Lovers and Souls covers the heartbreaking story of Hikaru's prostitute friend Tooru and Tooru's sempai, Matsuoka. Rules and its related doujinshi focus on four characters (Hikaru, Yuki, Atori, and Tooru) who each have to accept love as it is, not as they would have it be.
